500 buyers from 8 countries rushed for Turkish fabrics

As the second greatest textile and textile raw materials supplier of the European Union, Turkey gathers manufacturers and major companies at special events. To this end, Istanbul Chamber of Commerce launched the ‘Gate of Business’ project. ‘Textile B2B Istanbul’ organized for the fabric and textile accessories industry has been the first of the events held within the scope of this project.

4.800 BILATERAL NEGOTIATIONS

500 buyers from 8 countries gathered with the Turkish companies at the event. Importer companies of fabric and textile accessories industries negotiated with the representatives of 86 ITO member companies on purchasing agreements at the Wyndham Grand Istanbul Europe Hotel.

The most distinct feature of the organization has been the seller companies’ exhibition of the products during the B2B negotiations. As part of the event, approximately 4 thousand 800 bilateral business negotiations have been accomplished within two days.

Istanbul should remain at the global league of fashion

Şekib Avdagiç, President of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) underlined that Istanbul deserves to be a center in international arena in terms of textile and fabric industries. Avdagiç added, “The events actualized at Paris and Milan come to our minds whenever we hear of the fairs of textile, ready-to-wear clothing and related sectors. Istanbul will join the aforementioned cities.”

Stating that ITO has been organizing national participation from Turkey to over 40 international trade fairs every year, Şekib Avdagiç added: “Textile B2B Istanbul is our very first event that has been conducted as part of the ‘Gate of Business’ concept. We will carry on with the B2B negotiations with brand new concept in other sectors, too. Our target for the next three years is to fill Istanbul’s event halls of 100 thousand squaremeters with the events related to these sectors.”

Contracts on orders

Nearly 500 buyers from the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Serbia, Bulgaria and Poland attended Textile B2B Istanbul. Foreign buyers had the opportunity to negotiate with 86 Turkish companies and to examine their products.
